Sebastian Greif

My Story

Sebastian studied biochemistry at the University of Greifswald and earned his M.Sc. in the working group of Prof. Lalk in December 2016 by characterizing natural products used in TCM. Afterwards he started working at Enzymicals AG in Greifswald as a chemist in R&D and analytics for three years. In 2020 he joined the working group of ‘Pharmaceutical Biotechnology’ of Prof. Luzhetskyy at the UdS as a PhD student. During his PhD his goal is to solve the biosynthetic pathways of natural products via heterologous expression. Additional research interests of him lie in exploring and characterizing natural products as well as in the development of pharmaceutical precursors.
