Dr. Nikolas Eckert

Nikolas did his biology bachelor at Ulm University. After graduating he continued with a Master degree at Saarland University in Biotechnology. He did his master thesis in the AMEG group and started his PhD in autumn 2017. His major work interests are genetic engineering of secondary metabolite gene clusters, heterologous expression, examination of biosynthesis, so basically molecular biology. In his free time he likes to do sports, climbing, hiking as well as going for a beer o’clock walk.
