Maksym studied genetics and biotechnology at Ivan Franko University of Lviv, Ukraine. After receiving his PhD in molecular genetics he joined AMEG in 2012. His research interests are natural product discovery and genetic engineering of antibiotic producers.

Past projects: development of the IMES system, construction of the Streptomyces albus chassis strain and cloning of the albucidin biosynthetic pathway. His daily responsibilities are writing projects and papers, as well as supervising PhD students.
