Lukas was born in Saarbrücken and studied pharmacy here. After completing his studies in 2020, he first worked in the practical year under Prof. Dr. Thorsten Lehr, where he researched physiology based pharmacokinetics (PBPK) modelling of drug profiles and interactions.

He spent the second part of the practical year in a public pharmacy and received his license to become a pharmacist at the end of 2021. In 2023, he joined the team of Prof. Dr. Andriy Luzhetskyy as a PhD student, where he currently researches modifications of polyketide synthases in actinomycetes.
