My Story
Alina received her bachelor’s (2020) and master’s (2021) degrees in Biochemistry and Biotechnology at the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Ukraine. Since 2016 she worked in a biochemistry laboratory at the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology. Alina worked on projects such as testing metal consist nanoparticles for diabetes treatment and investigating the role of the phenylpropanoid pathway intermediates as substances for prolonging lifespan and improving its quality. In 2020, she won a FEMS Research and Training Grant and joined Prof. Luzhetskyy lab for 3 months. During this time she became more interested in natural products and synthetic biology and started her PhD under the direction of Prof. Dr. Andriy Luzhetskyy in 2022. Now Alina is interested in the metabolic engineering of Actinobacteria strains and new biologically active natural products discovery.
